The Elms of Hobart is located in an area of Hobart that was the domain of the wealthy in the early part of the 20th
century and features a number of grand old family mansions in close proximity.
The Elms is one of Hobart’s
landmark National Trust-listed mansions designed by Bernard Walker, the pre-eminent architect in Tasmania in the early 1900s. It
is entered in the Register of the National Estate as an outstanding example of a large house of World War I
vintage
The Elms of Hobart has been carefully restored and refurbished to reflect the original splendour of its
period. The antique furnishings and decor create an ambience such that you feel you are entering this
beautiful mansion at the time it was first established early last century.
Delightful gardens where guests can relax in the shade of the beautiful old trees are a feature of the
large half acre block.
The house has been fully restored and you will enjoy the grand proportions and high ceilings of the
spacious rooms, Tasmanian oak staircase and paneling, decorated in period antique furniture.
The Elms has six beautifully appointed luxurious private suites, each in a different style, a large lounge
